Dr. Ione Lewis – Director
Dr Ione Lewis has an extensive track record of successful TEQSA and professional accreditation applications. She has over twenty years of experience in senior academic roles and is passionate about the capacity of education to change people’s lives. Students, employers, and service users all benefit from greater diversity in the higher education sector. There is no one right way to deliver higher education.
Dr Lewis has published on the topic of quality assurance in higher education in peer-reviewed journals and has acquired in depth knowledge of the higher education sector and the regulatory environment.
Dr Lewis founded QA Higher Education to support higher education providers with regulation and compliance. She draws on a network of senior academic colleagues to provide consultancy services across a range of disciplines.
Dr. Ruth Thorne – Higher Education Academic
Dr. Ruth Thorne is passionate about teaching and learning, and she has taught in secondary and tertiary colleges and been involved with curriculum development, course writing and accreditation for over 30 years across a range of disciplines including mathematics, English, religion, psychology and counselling.
Dr. Thorne is currently a sessional lecturer in counselling at the Australian College of Applied Psychology using face to face, online and blended delivery platforms. She is actively engaged in the exploration of new and developing technologies for such delivery in response to emerging research on the effectiveness of these platforms.
Dr. Thorne has lived and worked in Asia, and maintains an interest the intersections of culture, spirituality, social justice and counselling. She has spoken at conferences in NZ, Hong Kong, and Australia about her PhD research and other topics, and has published a chapter in the area of interest in counselling.
